More About Caleb Colbert


Caleb’s practice focuses on real estate, land use, construction and agricultural law. Caleb is a graduate of the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources and the University of Missouri School of Law.


Caleb advises clients of all sizes on litigation and transactional issues and frequently appears before the City Council, Planning & Zoning Commission, the Board of Adjustment, as well as state and federal trial and appellate courts. Whether it’s resolving a title dispute, drafting a complex purchase agreement or forming a subdivision, Caleb is experienced in navigating complex real estate issues. Caleb’s construction experience involves all phases of a project – from bidding to contracting to post-completion disputes.


Caleb is a member of the 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees, a former member of the Sunrise Southwest Rotary Club, co-chair of the Columbia Ducks Unlimited Committee and a member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

He previously chaired the Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s Agribusiness & Bioscience Committee and served as a member of the Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Board.


Caleb is a graduate of the 2015 Leadership Columbia program, was named a Missouri Lawyers’ Weekly “Up and Coming” Lawyer in 2015, was selected by the Columbia Business Times for inclusion in the 2016 “20 under 40” class and was recognized as the Sunrise Southwest Rotarian of the Year in 2018.  Caleb has given many presentations on real estate, land use and zoning issues.


Caleb started his legal career working at a large firm working on complex legal matters for clients across the country. Prior to forming Haden & Colbert, he was a shareholder and member at one of Columbia’s oldest law firms.


Caleb and his family live in rural Missouri. In his spare time, Caleb spends time on the farm either bowhunting or chasing waterfowl with his retriever, Max.
