More About Brent Haden

Brent Haden focuses his practice on helping businesses and farmers solve their legal and commercial problems through both traditional litigation and aggressive, cost-effective negotiation.

Brent has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of cases, including property disputes, breach of contract and fraud cases, estate and probate litigation, and nuisance suits. He has also defended individuals, businesses, and farms from civil and criminal claims by various state and federal agencies. Protecting his clients from bureaucratic abuse is the most rewarding portion of his practice.

Brent was born and raised on a farm in Mexico, Missouri. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Missouri in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Brent graduated from Harvard Law School in 2002, where he was a member of the Federalist Society and served on the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy.

Prior to founding his firm in Columbia in 2011, Brent worked in Kansas City as both a private attorney and in public interest roles. In 2004, Brent joined the Kansas Livestock Association as

assistant counsel. While at the Kansas Livestock Association, Brent worked in both a traditional legal capacity and as an advocate on issues involving environmental regulation, property rights, eminent domain reform, and tax policy.

In 2007, Brent joined Graves Bartle Marcus & Garrett, LLC where he continued to represent agricultural clients and defend clients in white-collar criminal cases. He then served as Chief of Staff to Kansas Speaker of the House Mike O’Neal in the 2009 and 2010 legislative sessions.

Brent lives in rural Callaway County with his wife Connie and their three sons. In his spare time, he enjoys riding horses, hunting, playing guitar, and coaching youth sports.
